I’m enjoying this sharing… lots of designs to share leading up to Halloween!
This one is a costume I made back in 2004 (which won best costume at a local event) and I also wore it at the 2004 FABAIC Convention in San Francisco.
I bought a standard polyester “reaper robe” and a fortune in fabric paints – glow in the dark, UV, glitter, pearls, etc. and then spent a week creating the universe on the robe. Earth on the front, our Sun around the hem, and the moon and Jupiter on the back. I painted my face black with stars to match the robe and suspended a miniature Starship Enterprise from the hood and went as…. SPACE, the Final Frontier!
Here is how I wore it at FABAIC – I painted an alien in a flyer saucer on my face for the face painting competition for the theme “Out of this World”.
This is the only photo I have of the back of it, which was taken at the convention. Details show up very well in this photo! Hmm… Does Jupiter make my butt look big?
And this was the face painting that I did to go with it.
I still have the costume stashed away.
